When the shelters fill up, dogs sometimes sleep to make room for new ones. One of the dogs that underwent this type of euthanasia was the 8-month-old American Labrador / Pit Bull mix named Rudolph. But fate had a different plan.
Rudolph was euthanized by a vet at the Oklahoma Sanctuary, and when they returned to fetch him, the dog was awake and alive. The vet was shocked and refused to try again. This was when Kings Harvest Pet Rescue , a non-fatal shelter in Iowa, entered.
He posted his photo and story on his Facebook page, and people everywhere were amazed. The calls came from Lentgaron. Jacob Homer, a mighty Siberian breeder of veterans, confronted Rudolph and thought he would be ideal for the veterans he knew of Colorado.
The story of Rudolph deeply moved the veteran and accepted that he was the dog for him. Jacob drove two and a half hours from Des Moines to find Rudolph. Every miracle dog has a second chance in life and the perfect home to make the most of it! 🙂
