Nicole Marie Waseliski, a volunteer in the Iowa Animal Rescue Association, didn't think she would adopt another dog soon. But that changed when she saw a sweet, gray face on her own at home.
Kerry was calm and gentle and looked like an old wolf, and the woman couldn't get her out of her mind.
The ten-year-old had undergone a lot in recent years and suddenly lost his family. The newly adopted dog had trouble adjusting to her new home with Nicole. So Nicole got the idea to get Kairi with something of her own to help her feel safe and secure.
They went to the pet store where they allowed the dog to choose their own game. Kerry went up to the one she wanted.
Nicole told The Dodo: "She chose this funny pink dinosaur and we laughed at him and we kept trying to reverse her usual game." "I ignored them and carried the dinosaur all over the store and into the register."
Kerry won't let the pink dinosaur game get out of sight. She carries him wherever she goes and constantly hugs him. This really helped her settle into her new life and loosen her up a bit.
Kerry is very worried about the separation, and he chews the mat when left alone. So they started training her, and her favorite game goes a long way to help with that. She used to bark and scrape in the box, but with the dinosaur game she is quiet and quiet!
The big dog has adapted to her new life and home faster thanks to this game she can connect to. She even puts her paw on my mother's arm to show her thanks for the second chance in life.
Kerry has become more independent and breaks her shell more each day, but the family has a safety plan in the case: another pink dinosaur game. If something happens to her, she has a new version waiting for her! 🙂
